Award nom for STS translator

Henrik Th√łgersen has been nominated for the Subtitler of the Year Award, which is awarded by FBO, the association of Danish film and TV translators. Henrik has been nominated for his “consistently good craftsmanship and unparalleled, playful mastery of the language. He never misses the mark when the subtitles need to be silly, and the tone is always right, when they need to be serious and historically correct.”

Needless to say we’re all very proud of him here at Scandinavian Text Service, and we have our fingers crossed for a win! The other nominees are: Helle Schou Kristiansen, Hanne Friis, Christina Witting Estrup, and Bibi Huryn.”

The winner will be announced this Thursday the 6th of October, and Henrik will be on popular morning show “Go’Morgen Danmark” on Danish TV2 at approximately 9 am that morning.

This weeks premieres with subs by STS

The brilliant Michael Caine stars in both current premieres that were translated by Scandinavian Text Service. He’s an aging composer in Paolo Sorrentino’s beautiful film “Youth”, and he’s a priest assisting an immortal witch hunter (Vin Diesel) in the vfx-laden, action-packed thrill ride “The Last Witch Hunter”. How’s that for versatility?
